Smiles Network
Smiles Network is a
non-government organization that is geared towards the plight of
girls and young women as children in the society.
Our primary focus are :
- Education of the girl child.
- Empowerment of the girl child
- Fight against gender violence.
Smiles Network is
registered with various Government bodies and collaborates with
other CSO’s;
- Women’s Affair and Social Development
- Child development department.
- National Council for Women Society (NCWS)
- Teens Tempo Magazines, E.T.C.
We have held workshops and
programs which promote our objectives as an organization.
In October 28, 2009, we had a workshop/seminar collaborating with
UNIFEM and the topic was on the need for empowerment as a tool
against violence titled: Uplifting Womanhood.
We have series of programs in the pipeline for 2010 amongst which
are
- Training, empowerment on cosmetology.
- Pilot Program on medical projection of violence against women.
We have collaborated with other organizations including Visions for
Nigeria Foundation, as well as other NGO’s across the African
Continent in Sierra Leone, Liberia, etc.
