About Us >>> Introduction.

picVisions for Nigeria Foundation is a non governmental, non
religious, non profit making volunteer organization, involved
in numerous socio-humanitarian projects aimed at making a
positive contribution to the growth of our nation, Nigeria.
Volunteer action was at the heart of the concept of Visions
for Nigeria Foundation when it was founded in January 2002,
and was later fully registered with the Corporate Affairs
Commission to compliment government efforts by providing
services that are not avai-lable from the government and are
beyond the means of individual citizens and communities.

We are a member of the Nigerian Network of NGOs (NNNGO).
We also have a working relationship with the Cattle Rearers
Association based in Kaduna, the WAP Foundation, the Drivers’
Welfare Club, and the TLS Organisation amongst others. Visions for Nigeria Foundation’s
strength lies in our volunteers. We believe volunteers are the shortest distance between disaster
and help. We recruit volunteers who use their time, skills and/or resources for the good of the
society and our country at large

About Us >>> Our Aims and Objectives

Visions for Nigeria Foundation has the following as its aims and objectives:
  • Use Nigeria's larger population of adults (15 years and over) - about 60% to “clean up” our society. Adults from whom we learn are schizophrenic (teaching one thing and doing another). Visions for Nigeria seeks to affect the society by offering alternative behaviours to adults who often indulge in different ills in our communities. We seek to make a volunteer of every Nigerian and encourage them to volunteer their time and resources for the benefit of the Nigerian People.
  • We facilitate and undertake human development by fostering self-employment through training and acquisition of skills especially for orphans, widows and other less privileged ones.
  • We seek to increase the organized capacity of Nigerian people to care for one another by promoting peace and love among and within the different classes of the Nigerian people.
  • Carry out public awareness campaigns on the dangers of HIV/AIDS, TB and MALARIA through Drama, Music, jamborees, etc.
  • Sponsor and organize programs, grant aids or scholarships for developmental and educational causes in relation to orphans, widows etc.
  • Seek to undertake relief exercises if possible whenever and wherever the need arises. Volunteers are the shortest distance between disaster and help (Martins, VfNF).
  • Work with international and local NGOs to realize these and other related objectives.
  • Identity and showcase individuals and organizations or entities whose visions tally with those of Visions of Nigeria.
  • Undertake any other endeavours that will facilitate the realization of the above stated objectives.
  • Pursue the realization of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals in Nigeria by the year 2015.

Our Background

“Nigeria shall be great again” was at the heart of our concept when Visions for Nigeria Foundation was birthed in August 2001 in far away Istanbul, Turkey as “Visions Nigeriana”. It Registered and Commenced Operations in Nigeria in July 2004. Visions for Nigeria Foundation (a Nigeria development charity) is a non-profit, Non-Governmental Organization that works through volunteers for the benefit of the people of Nigeria to restore them the right to a sense of self worth, and a life of hope, health and happiness by promoting volunteerism to fight poverty, educate, promote healthy communities and help eliminate the stigma of illnesses. Most of our work is centered on achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). This is aimed at familiarizing you with our Organization, WHAT we do, WHY and WHERE we exist and HOW we carry out our mission.
